Lower Crankcase Installation

EN-45059 Torque Angle Sensor Kit

For equivalent regional tools. Refer to Special Tools .

Note: Ensure that the engine block and lower crankcase surface are clear of oil, grease and old gasket material.

1. Coat the RTV sealant on the crankshaft lower cover (1) surface (arrows).



2. Install the lower crankcase (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

Caution: Refer to Torque-to-Yield Fastener Caution in the Preface section.




3. Install the 10 NEW lower crankcase bolts (1) in a sequence as in the graphic shown.
4. Install the 10 NEW lower crankcase bolts (1) and tighten in three passes:

3.1.	First pass in sequence to 25 N·m (19 lb ft)

3.2.	Second pass in sequence to an additional 45 ° using the EN-45059 meter .

3.3.	Third pass in sequence to an additional 90 ° using the EN-45059 meter





Note: Tighten the 10 lower crankcase bolts (3) evenly.

5. Install the 10 lower crankcase bolts (3) and tighten to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).
